Truck stolen from Attica found near Republic

A vehicle stolen from Attica early July 29 was found on TR 124 between Attica and Republic late Saturday night.

Attica Police Chief Jeff Briggs said the vehicle was a Chevrolet S-10 ruck that belonged to one of Attica’s volunteer firefighters.

Briggs said the vehicle, which was stolen from the owner’s driveway at 4:28 a.m. July 29, does not appear to have any damage.

The vehicle is to be processed by the Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation in order to find some evidence.

“We’re going to submit it to BCI and hopefully we’ll be able to find some fingerprints or something that will help us make an arrest at a later date,” Briggs said.

Briggs said police do not have any leads.

The vehicle was set to be returned to the owner Monday.

This was the third stolen vehicle in the Attica area since last Tuesday. The other two vehicles, a second Chevrolet S-10 pick-up truck and a four-wheeler, have been recovered and returned to their owners.
